With more than 40 years of electric power industry experience, Patsy Baynard is responsible for developing Grid United’s transmission projects in regions across the United States.
Patsy has worked for two “transmission only” utilities, Wind Energy Transmission Texas as Project Director responsible for developing the transmission to support the Competitive Renewable Zones in West Texas and American Transmission Company as General Manager of Major Projects developing all major transmission projects in the system. Her utility experience also includes Pacific Gas & Electric in program management, transmission compliance, transmission project management, and emergency response and Duke Energy Florida (former Florida Power Corporation) where her leadership experience across the nuclear power program, major project development, environmental programs and research and development led to developing public policy and corporate strategic initiatives. During her career, she has served in a major role in placing in-service over 5,000 MW of power generation facilities, developing over 2,000 miles of greenfield electric transmission, and developing approximately $6B in electric transmission upgrades.
Patsy has been involved in diversity, equity, inclusion, and voting rights initiatives at both the professional and community level. She holds a Ph.D. in nuclear chemistry from the University of Arkansas, a MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology, and bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and chemistry from the University of Central Arkansas.
