Hoa Tran is a Director of Project Development at Grid United, where he leads the planning and execution of the company’s transmission projects. Hoa led Wyoming Intertie from project inception to mid-stage development, including stakeholder engagement, commercial strategy, permitting and regulatory compliance, survey coordination, and right-of-way acquisition.
Hoa also leads federal program applications and negotiations for Grid United. In this capacity, Hoa coordinates and leads contract negotiations with the U.S. Department of Energy, for a $700 million grant through the Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships program. Additionally, Hoa has also led the application and contract negotiation for other U.S. Department of Energy programs including the Transmission Facilitation Program and the Loan Programs Office loans.
With over 20 years of experience, Hoa has successfully managed the development of major energy and water infrastructure projects across the United States.
Hoa earned both his MBA and a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Houston.
