Mike Spector

Director of Transmission and Interconnection

As Director of Transmission and Interconnection, Mike Spector is responsible for all aspects of transmission planning and interconnection study efforts at Grid United. Prior to joining Grid United, Mike served as Grid Manager at Mainstream Renewable Power, where he led all grid interconnection planning and risk mitigation for offshore wind farm development in North America. Mike previously served as GE Renewable Energy’s Senior Engineering Manager leading a global team to drive project execution and  meet grid interconnection requirements for over 100 new and repowered onshore wind farms. Mike spent a total of 11 years at GE, including work as a systems engineer developing utility-scale battery energy storage systems. Before joining GE, Mike spent over 10 years at electric utility Central Hudson Gas & Electric with roles in substation design, transmission planning and energy efficiency.

Mike is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New York. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Binghamton University, an MBA from Mount Saint Mary College and a master’s degree in power engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
